Cat Access to Road Transportation (CatCart Program)

CatCart is a service provided by UC Merced Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) to assist UC Merced students, faculty and staff with temporary mobility issues in getting around campus. CatCart services are available during the fall and spring semesters only, between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Please allow 24-48 hours for processing and scheduling. Please note the CART service is not a call-a-ride service. Further questions about this service should be directed to TAPS by clicking this box.

To be eligible for CART Program, students must be approved by Student Accessibility Services where we will then make a referral to TAPS to initiate services.

PROGRAM RULES / GUIDELINES:

  • CatCart program vehicles are not city-street legal, and therefore cannot leave campus. Service is not available to off-campus housing. Anyone registering for CatCart service should be able to independently get in and out of a standard golf cart on their own. Due to liability concerns, drivers cannot provide assistance.
  • Due to high demand for the program, drivers will not wait more than five (5) minutes past a scheduled pick-up time. If you are not ready at your assigned location/time, the driver may leave without you to continue their other assignments. If you no longer require a scheduled pickup, please call in advance to cancel the ride.
  • Service will be automatically terminated after three (3) consecutive missed pick-ups. If service is no longer needed, please contact the CatCart program at (209) 228-8277 to be removed from the schedule. See map below for CatCart Program drop off and pick up locations.
  • If CART service is need after 5 PM, please reach out to the Student Service Ambassadors, 209-228-2677, from Public Safety for assistance.
